Information on the LPI website is general information about professional investigation services and is not legal advice.
Every investigation is different. References to surveillance, GPS/location-related work, background enquiries, tracing, OSINT, covert evidence gathering or other techniques do not mean a method is lawful, appropriate or available in every case. LPI may assess purpose, circumstances, necessity and proportionality and may refuse or modify an instruction.
LPI cannot guarantee that an investigation will confirm a suspicion, locate a person, establish an address, reveal particular information, capture an event, identify misconduct or produce evidence suitable for a particular legal purpose. Fees relate to professional work/resources, not a predetermined result.
Surveillance is undertaken subject to applicable legal and data-protection requirements and operational circumstances. LPI will not knowingly undertake surveillance for harassment, intimidation or other unlawful activity.
Legality depends on the circumstances, including authority, purpose, proportionality, privacy and applicable law. Nothing on the website states that installing or using a tracking device is automatically lawful merely because a client requests it. LPI assesses proposed GPS/location-related services before accepting an instruction.
Research may use public records, open sources, professional research sources and other lawfully available information. Independent information may be incomplete, outdated or inaccurate. Allegations and unverified intelligence should not be treated as established fact merely because identified during research.
Reports and evidence may assist legal proceedings, but LPI does not determine admissibility, evidential weight or legal effect. Clients should obtain appropriately qualified legal advice where required.
Clients are responsible for using supplied information/evidence lawfully. LPI does not authorise use for harassment, intimidation, unlawful discrimination, criminal activity or another unlawful purpose.
LPI takes reasonable care over website accuracy, but law, regulatory guidance, techniques and service availability can change. LPI is not responsible for third-party website content, security, privacy practices or availability.
Personal information is handled in accordance with applicable UK data-protection legislation. Further information is provided in LPI's Privacy Policy.
